KISSY TH' FACE!

Fabio Moon contacted us on Th' Space to let us know that he will be bringing original Sugarshock art with him to Comic-Con next week!!

Tell us this isn't just wishful thinking!

The teaser for the next issue of MySpace Dark Horse Presents ends with a note that it will include "a surprise story that no one will want to miss".

Next to it is a picture of a band playing.

The band, alas, is not Sugarshock.

But the style of the art (as much as it can be made out) seems very similar to Fabio Moon's work on the previous three-part Sugarshock comic which began appearing on that site last year before Comic-Con!!

Are we just being too hopeful and anticipatory and all maybe-maybe? We wish someone would tell us if we're just kidding ourselves.

But with Comic-Con coming up, and the MSDHP trade paperback coming out, wouldn't it just be the perfect time?!?!

Please, please, please, please!

It seems that the 2008 Eisner Award Nominations include a nod to the SUgarshock comic by Joss Whedon and Fabio Moon under the category Best Digital Comic!

Sugarshock in print! Sugarshock in print! Sugarshock in print!

The Dark Horse Comics solicitations for June indicate that Volume 1 of MySpace Dark Horse Presents will be in stores on September 17!

It will, of course, feature the three-part story about the best band ever in the history of everything which first appeared online last year.

And they are on the cover!!

It might be months away, but you can pre-order you copy right now!

It's been brought to our attention that one of our t-shirts was spotted at the Mutant Enemy picket line this past Friday. Yay!

Over on Th' Space, Scott Allie (Joss' editor at Dark Horse) chimes in on the calls for more Sugarshock:

Hey everybody -- we definitely hope to do more Sugarshock, but Joss is just real busy right now, including writing upcoming issues of Buffy, and can't take on one more thing. Everyone involved is eager to do more, so please hang in there.

Not only is the final part online today, but yesterday Fabio Moon posted about drawing Sugarshock!

"Yet again, I had to draw stuff I haven't drawn before on the story (maybe on my life), and I kept thinking when would I draw those characters again," he writes. "Maybe I could keep drawing them for myself, as sketches on my notebook."

And he includes what apepars to be an early sketch of Dandelion!

A little bit more on the question of a possible future for Sugarshock in in order.

Over on Fabio Moon's blog, we asked if the forthcoming Part 3 might not be the last we see of the band. Fabio's response: "What the future holds for Sugarshock is a mystery to everybody, me included."

But not long after, he also added this simple and cryptic comment to Th' Space: "Be patient."

And we only just now noticed that in the Sugarshock reference at the end of the letters column in the latest issue of Buffy, editor Scott Allie says this: "The third and final (?) part of Sugarshock goes live in thirty days."

So, guess there's hope!

Some more picks for voice talent.

Meanwhile, readers of the Buffy: Season 8 comics who didn't previously know about Sugarshock probably know now, because it gets mentioned in the letters column of the most recent issue!

Here's the first batch of suggestions for voice talent if there ever were to be a Sugarshock cartoon. Keep them coming!

For what it's worth, Emma Caulfield is a great choice. And the "Gwar" line in fact is precisely the one that clinched Sean Maher for us!

We're once again in the month-long wait for the next installment of the Sugarshock comic, and we must occupy ourselves somehow. So here's our picks for who to cast to do voices if there ever were to be a Sugarshock cartoon!

What are your picks? Email us, or even post a comment over on Th' Space and we'll add everyone else's choices here as they come in!

So, obviously, we've started up a lightweight blog thing here on our own website, mostly because we hate the MySpace blog thing. This initial item will compile some of the stuff we've posted to our MySpace profile, and then we'll go on from there!

Thanks to Dark Horse Presents for letting other Sugarshock fans know about us. We've got more than 500 fellow fans on our friends list now.

And hooray for Nate Piekos for pointing us to the font he uses to letter the awesome Sugarshock web comic! We used it here on the original design for our website, and still use it now, if you download it so you see see it.

We've even been noticed by Whedonesque, since Joss Whedon writes the comic based on the band, which is drawn by Fabio Moon!

It seems that at least one site thinks we're some sort of official Sugarshock page. We swear that we're not official, except that we're officially excited to be Sugarshock fans!

Fabio Moon has a blog post about Part 2! It includes this: "I really feel I have a good handle of these characters, and they come out pretty easily."

We got a little excitable, thinking that sort of sounds like Part 3 might not be the last we see of the band!

But in response to the above excitement, FB said: "What the future holds for Sugarshock is a mystery to everybody, me included."
